Libby Clark
Libby Clark earned her stripes in the digital world launching inthemix.com.au with co-founders Andre Lackmann and Neil Ackland during the throes of the tech wreck back in 1999. While looking back over the skeletons of many failed youth portals from that era it may have seemed a foolhardy idea, today Sound Alliance is Australia’s largest independent online publisher.
By founding an online community based around a unique mix of editorial and user-generated content, Sound Alliance found itself ahead of the game, with Inthemix.com.au growing into Australia’s No1 music site, succeeding in a competitive landscape by focussing on its community.
Following the runaway success of the inthemix brand, the team added FasterLouder, Same Same and Mess + Noise to the Sound Alliance family. Managing a dialogue with over a million fans each month may seem daunting to many organisations, but Sound Alliance has always considered its audience as a key stakeholder.
Libby sees the digital landscape as one of greatest opportunities for the promotion and development of artists. Her advice to the ultimate winner of the She Can DJ search: “for lasting success, the winner will need to truly embrace their fans online; looking beyond the standard fare of likes and follows to stand out as an artist who deserves the respect and admiration of their fans.”

Tim Hardaker
Sound Alliance Partnerships DirectorTim Hardaker's relationship with music is a sordid tale that stems back to school days spent behind the bike shed reading dog-eared copies of Rolling Stone rather than smoking cigarettes. A dud at sport and useless when it came to maths and science, when Tim had his first article published in street press at the age of 15 he made the obvious choice and set about making a career in media. A few years (and untold amounts of blagging) later, Tim has found himself in the position of Partnerships Director at Sound Alliance, Australia's largest music and entertainment web publisher with over 1 million Australians each month visiting their network of sites, including inthemix, FasterLouder, Last.fm, Pitchfork, Hype Machine and more.

DJ KC
DJDJ KC started his DJ career shortly after the breakdancing era in the late 80's. He started as a mobile jock and was known for playing mainly Funk. He broke into the club circuit in 1990, starting off in Sydney's renown clubs such as Kinselas, The Dome, and Ziguratt. Being a DJ/ Producer for acts such as Bad Reputation, E.S.P, and Lill Harris who were breaking Hip Hop to the Australian market at the time, he was constantly on stage performing trick sets.
He was asked to do a 4 Deck trick show at a rave recovery club called sundayz at the Pavillion, and after seeing the enormous response, promoters realised that Turntable tricks and scratching was not only for Hip Hop and soon later KC found himself playing at various raves supporting acts such as Ultrasonic, The Dream Team, DJ Slipmatt, and many more. His passion for performing tricks lead him onto winning the Australian DMC Championships in 92,93 and 96, with a 5th placing in the world when he performed with 4 turntables at the "Ministry of Sound" U.K and went up against the likes of Q Bert, Mix Master Mike, Crazy B, Noise, and Rectangle. That same year KC was also awarded "Best Creativity in Mixing" at Australia's first R&B Awards hosted by Mike Scott of "Ten Wedge".
KC retired from battles in 1996 but kept on rocking all major clubs and parties across Australia with mind blowing club sets that always left the crowd in awe. Being a lover of all music and genres he was able to play all styles from underground hip hop jams to club house and major raves. However KC never lost his grass roots and kept a funky soul flavor to all the different genres that he played.
KC was also well known for his 4 deck demos during this period and in 1995 he was approached by a rep from DENON to launch their new mixer. He did not know it at the time but he became the 1st Australian DJ to be officially sponsored by a corporation DENON (1995), Technics (1996), Intimidation (1997) and Vestax in (1999). DJ KC was also the first DJ to showcase the art at corporate tradeshows like ENTECH EXPO in 1997 and found himself in demand from all major companies that wanted to push their products.
He did many national tours for these companies and promoted their products in various clubs in each state. He was featured with a tutorial CD Insert in the cover of Australia's highly acclaimed magazine for music technology, "Next Music".
He also started his own weekly column called "Hot Stuff" in the popular street press "3d world" as editor and reviewer of latest DJ equipment. He contributed his work to other urban street mags "On the Street Magazine" and "Request Mag". In radio he did a weekly show "Turntablistics" to dedicate pioneering DJs that put scratching on wax with DJ Mark Walton on "Radio Dex". On TV he has appeared and showcased on BBC UK's "Club Choice", Channel V, Arena, "Australia Uncovered" (Sky U.K), and Ground Zero (SBS).
KC has played alongside pioneers like Jam Master Jay (Run DMC), Kool Herc (Founder of Hip Hop), Ca$h Money, 3 X World Champ DJ Craze and A-Trak to name a few. As a party rocker that could play to any crowd, KC is in high demand in all genres of music in diverse clubs and festivals across Australia which has kept him extremely busy throughout the 20 years of his DJ Career. He now focuses on teaching the art of DJing to upcoming DJs and appears as special guest at parties across Australia and Melbourne where he now resides.

JASON ELLIS
DIRECTOR - POSITIVAI'm very excited about the potential the She Can DJ project has both for EMI, and the scene in general, and I'm looking forward to getting involved and offering a UK / European perspective where needed. Australia has a good track record in developing new talent that can make a mark on world stage, and this project will surely give someone the opportunity to do just that, in what is an increasingly competitive market. Good luck!
Jason has been Director of EMI owned / world renowned dance label, Positiva, since 2001, having worked with the label since 1998. His first major signing was 'Groovejet' by Spiller, and was responsible for putting together the vocal version with Sophie Ellis-Bextor, which was a global hit in the summer of 2000 - and the first ever track to be played on an iPod !
Throughout the Noughties, Jason signed and worked with many of the world's leading DJ's and producers , including Deep Dish, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, The Shapeshifters and Axwell. In 2008, Jason was instrumental in bringing David Guetta into the Positiva fold for his releases in the UK, and has played a key role in his huge success since.
In 2009, Positiva merged with the larger Virgin Records team, and enabled Jason to work across both labels. So whilst continuing to sign the hottest new talent to Positiva (including NERVO and Alex Metric) , he has overseen the development of the deadmau5 project and was responsible for signing Swedish House Mafia to Virgin.

NICOLE FOSSATI
EDITOR/JOURNALISTOver the last fifteen years Nicole Fossati has somehow maintained consistent involvement in the music and media industries. What start in the mid nineties as a way to avoid getting a real job, Fossati started writing for the country's only dance music mag, 3D World. Through another strange series of events she ended up editing the magazine, guesting on community television and radio shows and eventually jumping ship to join Sony Music in dance music marketing.
That got old real quick and sodden, she climbed back into the media boat by resuming her writing and talking and she soon landed the coveted position as the female host on SBS' groundbreaking electronic music program Alchemy. She was also the music editor and the host of the sister radio program, but for now lets just keep it lineal and say she pretty much stepped into Triple J from here.
Hosting the J's Drive show did come after a brief stint at EMI, which was rad, some panel mediation and conference speaking roles on electronic music, more features and op ed writing, and a year long guest spot on Adam & Wil's breakfast show, but it seemed to happen so fast. She had her on specialist late night program over the weekends on the J's called The Club where for once in her life, she mostly let the music do the talking.
Nic left the ABC to work with the DC brand in the capacity of events and sponsorship manager to celebrities and musicians, but in reality it was a pretty big fat excuse to go snowboarding whenever and where ever she wanted, and write about it.
With her pipe dreams behind her it was a side step into and out of Austereo, after which she resumed the more cerebral vexations of editing Australia's leading music industry business magazine, The Music Network, and corresponding consumer website of the same name.com . She comes to us now from somewhere in that compelling-content-creation zone.
